Credentials: My formal education is a triplicity – a combination of three distinct and often individual realms.  Oh, do tell!

I hold two Master’s degrees, one in accounting and one in counseling, and have a Mixology Certificate…shake it all together and serve the formal-education combo “on the rocks!”

What a mix, you say?

Yes, a skill set of many colors and rhythms.  A combo-plate that keeps me continually intrigued at the variety of skills I bring to business settings – whether I find myself consulting with a company or with a small business owner, I can tap into my education and business experience.  I have come to understand various aspects of business through my 10+ year of experience working inside a CPA firm and owning several small businesses along the way.

The business world: a world that is generally experienced with an eye toward the bottom-line, productivity, and quick results.

The counseling world: an artistic world of curiosity for the human condition of struggle and joy, a relational space of fluidity, and a realm where results occur in unplanned, surprising sorts of ways.

The connection of these distinct realms is Excel~a’s play space.  So, I work well with entrepreneurs because there is always an intersection with creativity and business that must be entered to enjoy the vibrance of work while completing the numerous daily tasks of small business life.  The intersection of creativity and business is where I have fun, am inspired, lose inspiration, struggle, grow, celebrate and make money.  It is a full realm.  It is a colorful realm.
